Meet the middle child in the monkey troop by Kay Bojesen.

So far, the monkey family has comprised the famous and much-loved monkey measuring 20 cm and a voluminous older brother measuring 46 cm.

Now the middle monkey brother measuring 28 cm has been born. Just like his younger and older brothers, the middle brother is handmade at a Danish workshop.

The beloved monkey follows us from childhood to adulthood through all stages of life and is a popular gift idea for those we love. He will find his way onto wish and wedding lists as well as all other kinds of special occasion.

The Monkey is manufactured from plantation teak and limba wood.

As the teak is from a plantation, there may be dark spots and stripes, but exposure to air and light will reduce these over time. Accordingly, there will be variations in the wood from monkey to monkey, making every single monkey utterly unique

The beloved monkey is born in 1951. The teak and limba monkey is living proof of Kay Bojesen's conviction that the lines in any product need to ‘smile’.

The smiling monkey is probably the best known of all Kay Bojesen's toys.

The story goes that Kay Bojesen was asked if he wanted to design a hat rack for an exhibition of children's furniture. The idea behind the monkey was that its long arms would bring the pegs down to child height and its short legs would provide the pegs for hanging hats and scarves.
